Anyone out there got A good idea for oil or lube, To keep the Knives from rust? and something that will not dry up! thanks Bowie 1953

Mineral oil works pretty well. Just wipe off the excess or it can be messy. You might also want to try Tuf Cloth.

There will be many replies on this so I will share my storage method.

I've stored my knives , some for years, coated with a thin coat of 3 in1
household oil wrapped in waxed paper or plastic wrap and kept dry.
This method has worked causing no damage to any of the knives
I've stored thus far.

Are there better ways and materials? i suppose so I just have not needed
to find them. :)

Yeah, I totally agree with that. Actually, even CRKT promoted that BreakFree for their knives. Also, White Lightning works well as a lubricant.

I'll second mineral oil. Especially if you plan on preparing any food with your knife. It is tasteless, odorless, and completely harmless. Preserves your knife very well too. It is particuarly good for fixed blades as it is kind of thick.

I'll third mineral oil.Great stuff for the knives used to cut any kind of food.
