What kind of oil do you guys recommend for finishing a bushcraft second handle or at least stabilizing it a bit so that it doesn't crack or warp further?

Spyderco soaked 'em in boiled linseed oil, they continued to crack, that's why they're going out as seconds.
I soaked mine in boiled linseed oil, no cracks yet.

I dunno if anything will stabilize 'em for sure. May be kinda hit & miss.

I plan on using several coats of a good danish oil when my bushcraft has acclimated to the dryness of where I live. I have had good results with watco oil in the past, I apply it with steel wool and scuff it with steel wool in between coats after it has dried and then repeat until I am happy with the finish.

That might work. Would you post some pics when you wrap this process up? I too live in Hellizona. I was just going to sand mine down, add CA to teh needed cracks and then spray some clear enamel on it. Yep, teh same stuff you see on car paint.
