Oiling D2 blades and removing rust

i have a spyderco paramilitary with a D2 blade. its beginning to show rust on the blade under the G-10. i can only see it when i'm opening the knife. whats a good way of removing rust without scratching up a D2 blade? ive never had a D2 knife so i dont know exactly how to maintain the steel. thanks
