I asked this at the end of another thread, Figured Id start another one, Can you use mineral oil to oil leather sheaths? Also somone mentioned you can use beeswax and oil mix, I use this mix on my cutting board, but wasnt sure if you can use it on a sheath.

I am certainly no expert, but sometimes when a sheath is super dry or so tight that the snap won't snap, i use Neatfoots oil. BE AWARE, it WILL loosen things up & make them softer. Thats why i use it. If you don't want it to soften the leather or loosen it up, then use beeswax or something else. Oil will generally loosen & soften leather, but it probably also depends on the type & cut of leather. You may get more detailed response in the "sheaths & such" section.

Montana Pitch blend Leather Dressing or Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP are both good for treating and water proofing leather. They both also give leather a nice rich color after drying.
