Oils and such for lighting

I don't know what other thread to post this in. I've got one of those cheap glass oil lamps that's been sitting around for a while unused, and I'd like to use it, but the smell of lamp oil leaves a lot to be desired. So I'm wondering if lamp oil can be mixed with the fragrance oil used for incense burners, and can be burned safely while giving off a more desired aroma.

I've smelt the oil for tiki torches and it's far too pungent to be around, especially in the house.

Clean odor free Kerosene is where I would start. Regular Kerosene is okay outside but, pretty strong for indoors.

you can get low odor lamp oil, as well as fragranced oil. I'd stick to pre-mixed stuff, since the combustion might not work well with some fragrances.

We had a discussion in the outdoor and survival gear forum on this recently.

I use odorless clear lamp oil. The easiest to find here is "Lamplighter Farms" brand handled by many stores. If you want scent, get a scented candle, IMHO. Lamps are for light and smells added can become overpowering (and clog wicks) if used for any length of time. I use as many as three at a time here during power outages, all in the same room.
