ok #10 done - the sheath

Nice Blade Phil !! I've never seen or heard of Lacewood before.I like it,is that a form of "jigged" style finish or what ? Looks real grippy ,which is always nice for a Hunter style blade.Things can get kind of slippery when your sucessfull and need to put her to use.Make sure and post a pic of the sheath too.I'm curious about the style sheath you make for it.Chuck Burrows of "WILD ROSE TRADING CO." gave me some tips on a Butterfly style sheath for Drop Points like that, which worked quite well."OT I know but "Thanks Chuck" :D and thanks for posting Phil .

Looking great Phil. I see great improvements on each one you do.

I think I warned you that this stuff is addictive. Keep up the great work.

Lookin good Phil ! Now,what about that handle texture ? How did you do that , or is that just a "feature" of lacewood ?

That's a good looking knife. Very smooth transition between the blade and handle. The scale material is rather unusual. I don't think I remember ever seeing a light-colored lacewood handle before.

its just lacewood fine grain with just varathane (clear plastic) for a finish
no stains or oils i liked the grain and texture of the wood to much to change it

thank you all for the praise and i will make and post #11 as soon as i can
prolly tommorow (tues)

thanks again

phil

p.s. the handle is not using scales it is a solid block of wood that i "grooved"
for the full/hidden tang meaning it is a full tang but just behind the botom of the handle it has more of a worm feeling and look to it in my opinion
thanks
