ok a really stupid question about BM benchmite! (i think?)

Just got one a few days ago...just got time to play with it...but how in the heck do I open it. It appears the blade is locked in the closed position and I cannot seem to open it..there seems to be a release for the blade on the left side of the knife but how do I open it...man I feel like a moron..is this thing defective??

Nope, it ain't defective. That tiny thin is kinda hard to open. You gotta press the lock (located on the handle slab) then open the knife with your nail.
