I've been lurking around the blade forum for awhile now ( mostly the Buck forum) & it seems a little strange to me that my favorite knife of all shows up so rarely. That is the little Buck 55, it is very rare that this little beauty is not riding on my belt. If the 110 is the king of knives then this little temptress has to be the Queen..............Right???????????????:rolleyes::)

The 55 is a very handsome knife. Great size for pocket carry, too. I was contemplating buying one at some point. I already have lots of knives with that blade length, kinda hard to justify buying another.

The justification for a new knife is just I want it. You may be able to get too many knives but I have not found that celing yet at over 300 & 67 years old.8 of those are Buck 55's

:) Don't take it personally. There are a lot of very nice Bucks that rarely get talked about. Subjects come and go, so sooner or later (like right now) a knife will get some mention and off we go.

They are sweet little knives, more like a small 111 than a 110 in my opinion. I rarely carry one as I prefer something with a sheeps foot blade like the 301's I carry, but I do have one right on my desk that I use all the time as a letter opener.

I just happened to have these five within arms length (no kidding) when I read your post. The top one is a bit unusual as it has either nickle silver or stainless steel bolsters. It and the chipped flint Timberlake both have the NS or SS frame/liner but all my others are brass.

I keep aiming to pick one up, I really like the looks of the 55, and feel like it's everything it's larger, older brothers are in a smaller, more convenient package, that is more than worthy in the pocket. I wish they'd add it to the custom shop.

I just bought one two weeks ago and I love it. I made a little baby sheath for belt carry. It's my church knife. But other than that, I carry a 110 for edc.

Not weird! I often wonder the same thing. I have one and really love it. I have been carrying mine lately and kind of fell back in love with it.

The 55 is one of only 3 Buck folders that I've kept. It's one of my favorite Bucks ever, along with my 503 Prince. Honestly, between the two, I don't feel like there isn't much that I couldn't accomplish.

Well it is good to know i'm not alone. Great picks, now i'm gonna have to get some pics of mine & figure out how to post them. I don't have anything as fancy as Plumberdv though

the 55 is a fine pocket knife!
small and nimble don't take up to much room
I have several of these ...
I don't recall any one with a display of these at the knife shows ...
would make a great theme

They are handsome little knives and on my "to get" list. Wont carry it except for the aforementioned church knife as I like to be able feel the knife in my pocket. 112 or 500 are about as small as I carry, normally a 100, vantage or Tempest.

The first show that I went to in Pasadena, 2009, someone on the Buck table had a very sizable display of 55's. I can remember it and remember taking a picture of the display but so far can't find it. I'll bet Bruce would remember.
