Ok, converting my knife to a stick tang, before i make cuts, is this correct?

Heres a scan of the knief, the black marker is what i was planning on cutting,a nd the red lines show how it would be with the shoulders. Also, a scan of wayne goddards diagram for a stick tang knife. I need to know, if i cut my knife like this, iwll it form stress cracks when heat treated?

That looks about right to me Aaron, best not to remove any more material than nessisary. You might could get away with a wider tang than your lines show.
