You know how you can add phosphorous or blue metal with electrolysis. Or you know you can gold or other precious metal plate stuff. Is it possible to remove rust with some kind of electric and solution mix? Any genius chemists out there?

Not that I have to remove rust on anything but two tiny bits on a maxamet.

Yes, you can. Google has many links to DIY instructions.

Large Rubbermaid tube, DC battery charger, 1lb Arm and Hammer washing soda per 10 gal of water, postitive on object(or copper wire suspending object in water from pvc pipe), negative on anode(obviously with no direct metallic connection between pos and neg). Check every 20 minuets. You should see some tiny bubbles stemming from the object after 5 minutes. Depending on the level of oxidation you are dealing with you may need to scrub the object every hour.

I wouldn’t use this to spot clean a knife blade.

Several YouTube videos on this.
Works wonders on old neglected cast iron.

I used to have a kit/contraption that cleaned the inside of gun barrels electricity.
