I need to place my focus around the knives I use and develop the best system possible for hiking/camping.. I have most everything I need but still tweaking old stuff with newer.. and still have to buy my oldest son a few things for couple night stays.. etc..

I've been trading/selling knives and other stuff here and there to update my current setup.. And I'm almost there..

Just purchased my last knife I intend to buy for a while.. An ESEE 4, I've been buying/trading a LOT of knives and I think I'm right where I need to be for now.. At least til I obtain all my gear..

I'm so addicted to knives its sick, I used to shoot EVERYDAY now its been weeks since I last shot. I have a make shift shooting range on my property with steel targets to boot.. But I've got this itch for knives, it's not like I just got into knives I just got MORE into it..

So it stops here and I'm going to take it one day at a time.. :p

Nothing else will tempt me not even a polished Izula...:D

btw, my Izula is almost completely polished to a MIRROR.. I'll post pics... I'm going to talk to RichardJ for a final once over..

I just need to learn to sharpen what I have better, then I might not feel like a need a new knife every time one gets a little dull!

Ha! Ha! Just wait till some of the new items start coming down the pike! You will lose control my friend!:D

here ya go...

its almost there.. I plan to put another 30min into it tomorrow, if I can't get it 100% where I want it with my belt sander then its off to the pros..

Sorry for the shoddy camera...

Looks real good so far dude. How are you gonna keep it polished afterwards?

I was thinking if I ever did it to an IZULA that a clear duracoat was in order...

this is what it looked like after it was stripped and had a little time trying to polish it.. bad pics again as my camera is lame..

that's what I'm thinking, although I do have some PPG automotive clear coat, real quality stuff (on a car).. not sure how it would hold up to use though.. I've looked into the duracoat and have considered that as an option..

I'll say it again, I wished ESEE would offer this as a 'no nonsense' option for those of us that want it, yeah it wont fit in the sheath super snug as before but that's an easy fix..

Come on ESEE give us an uncoated blade!! I bet they'd sell off the chain, do a poll>>

Well whatever you do I look forward to seeing the finished product

When I have some extra cash kicking around (selling a few textbooks soon) I've gotta decide between an IZULA or lite machete.... if I get another izzy I'll strip it try a polish an clearcoat aswell

It's a nice thing to want, but someone I think you won't be able to shake it off 100%. No one can

Everytime you think you are out, something new comes along and pulls you back in! Lol

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. So you're about 1/4 of the way there.
