Ok guys, two Machaxs on the table, a Cincinatti and a Kabar

which one do you grab if you can only have one, and why?
I have a chance to get a Cincinnati Machax.
For those who have used both, which one do you like better?

I have both Machax and I would grab the Cincinatti. Why? 1/4" (Cincinatti) vs 3/16" (Kabar) - I like the extra weight and thickness.
-the handles on my Cincinatti have different material scales and they're much grippier.
-I've owned and used the Cinci for 20+ years. It's my favourite knife of all.

Having said that, the Kabar is quite good as well.

Awhile ago, a buddy and I did a bit of a comparison on the two. If you haven't seen it, it's here.

If you don't want the Cinci, let the people on this forum know - I'm sure there'd be some takers.

One of the mods here (I forget which) told me the older thicker ones are where it's at and when he tried the KA-Bar 3/16ths version he was really disappointed.

If they Ka-Bar had made the BK4 .25" thick I would have bought one right when they came out. But I already had a BK9 so I don't see much point now.
 
Cincinnati? I'm guessing you're referring to the original line (Blackjack), since I think that's where they were made?...I'm just not used to seeing them called that.

Thanks Doc for all the work you put into those videos! They told me everything I needed to know. I am excited to get my hands on the Cinci Machax.
 
Alright, the Machax will be on its way to me tomorrow. I am bartering with making him a couple of kydex sheaths in return. I'm pretty happy with that deal.
