Well I have had a passion for knives ever since I was 8 years old...I started off with flea market crap, just because I didn't know any better, and back then mainly bought knives for display, not use...then when I was 11 years old I got my 1st decent knife, which was a Boker Top-Lock II, I LOVED it, I thought this was the best knife in the world, lol...Then one day I lost it...but, I knew there were better knives out there to buy, own, and use...So I did a search on the new house computer for knives, and found 2 AWESOME websites...knifeforums and bladeforums...within about 3 weeks I started saving and spending all my money on better knives...I owned CRKT's, Kershaws, lower end spyderco's and Benchmades...and the disease, I mean passion, lol, spread...

Within the 1st day of joining the forums I read about the sebbenza...I thought wow, thats expensive but I want one...to make a long story short I have bought, used, traded, and sold tons of knives all in and about the $40 - $150 price range, and I loved many of them, but every year 2 or 3 tiems I woudl try to save up for a sebenza to get one in ym hands to actually see what its like, I mean I have read hundreds of threads about them, and every now and then the same would keep popping up...but, everytime I tried to save I would be weak and impatient and end up spending my money on a cheaper knife or I would just end up paying a bill with it...

well this year I promised myself no matter what, when I got paid I would just go ahead and buy a sebenza asap! Well I did it, took me about 10 years, lol, but I just ordered myself my 1st sebenza! A small classic with micarta inserts (I decided on micarta since this is going to be my user for a logn time, I wanted an insert, and figured this might be a bit better for grip and durability than the wood models, although I am sure the wod ones hold up just fine) Anyway I just got off the phone...I decided to buy mine from knifeart, since I have been gawking at their customs for years, lol, plus I am also a zippo collector, so I threw in a knifeart Zippo to remember the occasion!

So...in 3 days a big brown truck will bring me a package containg a knife I longed after for 10 years, lol...I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!:D

So...I just wanted to share that story with you guys, and also ask anyone with a small classic w/ micarta inlays to maybe post a pic of yours for me to stare at while I wait, lol...;)

p.s. I am having a custom sheath made, I will post pics when its done!

Congrats! I got the same exact knife for my first seb. It is probably my favorite all around knife. It's so sweet!

OMG, I am trying to bring myself to trade mine for a large wood Seb on another forum. It was my first, but is too small for me. I really like using it just the same. LOL.

this is off topic, but I was just wondering what the word Sebenza means? Anyone know why this model was named this?

Sebenza means "work" in Zulu. This model is named this because it is meant for work!! Congrats to you and enjoy the knife.

YAY!!!! It came today, I have been feeling sick, I'm just getting over Bronchitis, but this made my day, I decided to have a photoshoot, lol, here it is with my favorite little knife, a Peter Atwood Skeeter!

So, thank you Chris Reeve, for making such a nice knife, thank you forum members for talking about it so much and pursuading me to buy one, and thank you Knifeart.com for your buisness (by the way they also sent me a nice bag of gourmet chocolate chip cookies along with my order, which was a cool suprise!)

Congratulations on getting over the bronchitis -- I mean! on getting the S*E*B*E*N*E*Z*A !! :D

You couldn't have picked a bad one, they're all great, but the Micarta inlays really do add to the grip as well as the looks. I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Thanks! Yeah beign sick is a bummer, and its kind of hot here in Northeastern PA, which doesn't help much, but I AM getting better, and this sebbie has really helped to brighten my day!

Congrats on the pickup...I too have a small sebenza on order...can't wait for its arrival.

Congrats on your new Seb!

I too have never owned a Sebbie.... I think next year is going to be the year for me.

Same as yours, but in the large :D

Good Luck! I was going to go with a large myself, but I have short wide fingers, lol...So I went with the small, its a great size for me, but I think the large wouldn't be "too" big either...
