Ok, guys, while we really appreciate the generous offers from everyone, again, we really don't want handouts. We'd rather that you guys get something physical in return that you can show off to your friends, etc.
One of the ideas that Mike and I have tossed around is that of the BladeForums.com Buyers Club - where members get killer deals on knives each month. You guys get cool knives for dirt cheap, and get to help keep your mostest favoritist site open at the same time.
In that vien, we've struck a deal with Camillus for one of their classic knives - the Camillus 886, pictured at right. Camillus has discontinued this line and replaced it with the Camillus model 9, which is why we've been able to get a great deal on these more expensive knives.
The Camillus 886 features nickel silver bolsters and pins, a significant upgrade from the standard brass bolsters and fittings, as nickel silver is much more scratch and tarnish resistant. The pivot pin is also made of stainless steel, compared to the brass pivot pins of similar competitor models. The handle scales are laminated hardwood, polished to a high luster.
The 3.5" clip point blade is made of 440A, and opens by means of a thumb groove / nail pick - overall length of the knife is 8.5" open, 4.125" closed.
These knives typically retailed for $46.95, but we are able to bring them to you for the low price of $24.99.
Because of the nature of this sale, we will be taking orders for 2 weeks before we place our final order with Camillus. The knives will be delivered 4 weeks after that - so look for the knives to be delivered to you by the middle to end of August.
