Since the updates to the boards the system does not allow me to upload pics from my computer. I can copy pics from the web - but it does not like the ones from my computer.

It says ..... "CS AD1.JPG:This is not a valid image file."

A little help here ... Please :thumbup::D

If you can't do it from your computer, then do it hosted on another site. The particulars vary a bit, depending on what hardware and software you're using, but it should be pretty close to this:

1) Right click on your picture, on the site where you have the picture hosted, so that a menu pops up

2) Select "View image"

3) copy the URL of the image

4) At Bladeforums, either click "new thread" or "post reply"

5) click on the little yellow icon of the mountains and sun, above the box you type into

6) paste your URL, and hit return, or click OK

if you can't paste your URL, then just type any random letter or number, and hit return or click OK, then after the bracketed IMG tags are inserted into your text, paste it in between the bracketed IMG tags.

That's it!

Doug -- Check the properties of your .jpg to make sure it doesn't exceed the 100KB & 800x600 size restrictions. If it is too big, use MSPaint or another image modification app to resize the image. In MSPaint use the Image - Stretch/Skew to shrink it.

When I want to post big pics I use Photobucket. It's free and they even give you the url w/ the IMG tags for easy copy and paste into your BF post.

There's a couple threads in the support section about the .JPG/Non-valid file errors. It's a known issue since the upgrade and is being worked. That's what I could gather anyway, I've always just used PhotoBucket.

Ya - there are pics I have posted before and now it will not let me do so - I am thinking it is a system thing. I sure used to be able to post this way till the update ....

Thanks everyone:thumbup:

What is the least complicated free photo hosting site? Curious as to what you all think.
