Howard and Bri,

Thanks for the nice welcome. I suspect most everyone here is just as hospitable. The "little" 15" is a nice substitute for a hatchet. Just love the ability to hack, slice and stab with such a versatile tool. I want to use this knife for everything I would use a small hatchet for - fuzz sticks, sharpening hot dog/marshmallow cooking sticks, light chopping of wood, and splitting thinner kindling. Gave up on hand sharpening and sent it to a buddy to have slack belt sharpened the proper way.

Picked up a 17.5 WWII today! My sons want me to buy the 44" monster that SethMurdock is selling. Think I will work up to that one.

Wonder how many khukuris each HI forum frequenter has, on average :) Learning some good stuff on this forum about horn handle care. Must read more!

Hi Geode, welcome to the Psycho Ward, otherwise known as the Cantina.:D

On an average I would say about thirty too fifty. Some people have way, way over that and a few only have five or so.:D
I used to have more than I do now and am looking to get rid of some more in the future. I'll go up to a gold membership before I do though.:)
I probably had 30 or more at the top of my collecting.;)

Well... My HIKV is quickly setting in... I have five at the moment, and I started looking at khuks near the end of July... Two or three in the mail... Still not sure if I snagged one back in one of the deals... We'll see on the next credit card bill... But anyway, I'm only keeping one of those khuks. The other two are going to friends.

Yeah, we all said that some were going to friends. Sometimes they took just a little longer ( by several months ) to get to the friends than we initially planned.

Welcome, by the way.

Welcome. I'm not in exhalted territory myself, probably having purchased close to 20.

Welcome! Nice choice for your first BTW. I think I've got 7 or 8. Can't really remember right now and several are back home in PA.

Have purchased around 80-90 (have to check my records for exact count - also, includes non-khukuri-HI-knives, ie. JKM, KK, Trishul). The largest the collection has ever been = 44. Have done reconditioning work on about 50. Have had around 200 go through my hands (mwkk included).

Still don't know nuthin'.......and feel like quite the rookie sometimes....
