Well, I've been picking up folders for a long time and never pulled the trigger on a fixed blade. I work for the USBP and decided that I needed a fixed blade to strap on to my camelbak while walking in the brush. I've always liked the looks of the Busse's but never thought I'd have much use for a big fixed blade. I ordered the NMSFNO from the Busse Company Store a couple of nights ago. As I usually do, after I order a new toy, I've been doing allot of reading on it and now I can't wait for it to get here :grumpy: I'm gonna need a good sheath for it soon too I guess. The worst part, the more stuff I read on the various Busse Models, the more I want another...I think a certain sickness is setting in...I feel my wallet getting lighter. :(
Pictures coming soon hopefully.

There seems to be a hardcore following on the NMSFNO. I havent' experienced it myself but it looks like you chose a great blade.

For the sheath....seek out the Bear of Chuddy.

Good sheaths shouldn't be a problem, you just have to decide on kydex or leather.

If leather is your flavor then you could do worse than check out the forsale forum. I see some very nice sheaths good to go right now.

(I hope the above does not count as auction spotting, if so please delete my post)

Congrats Jasonp ,,,,,,,, gr8 score on a fine blade  I own the Sage / Black combo and I love it. However you are now basically screwed. You'll max out your credit cards hunting down the "just one more blade" ,,,, which turns into shitloads of blades, real quick. It is a great addiction though,,,,, So enjoy yourself,,,,,and when you look forlornly @ you bank statements and creditcard bills , just remember one thing..........

,,,,,,,,,,, so Let's just DRINK!!!!!!!!!

I'm kinda leaning towards the Cordura lined with Kydex sheath...Leather is too nice for what I'm gonna put it though. I trod through some of the thickest mesquite, catclaw, acacia brush on the planet down here in south Texas and leather just takes a beating. While it holds up great, it sure shows the scars well.

Thats what I was worried about..my bass boat already keeps me broke so this isn't good.

I'd personally go with just plain Kydex with a dropleg in your environment. The snag factor will be greatly reduced, and the sheath will wear just fine. I'm very partial to my Mashed Cat sheaths that I own; as they have great service life and quality build for my money.

I second 1Tracker's recommendation if you go with Kydex. I have just found myself a member of the addiction and like you bought a NMSFNO. I contact mashed cat and picked up a kydex dropleg with a leg strap to keep it tight to the leg. It fits great and is more secure than a treble hook swallowed by a 40 inch pike.

That's what I'd do:thumbup:

Instant gratification:D

Thanks for all the reccomendations guys. I like the looks of the drop leg kydex, I may give that a go. I wonder if he makes it in OD green to match my work duds:

Oh, if you're ever down this way, I'm alway up for some fishing. The boat works about 80-90% of the time. It stops working when I'm strapped for cash
