i like all these knive a lot im lening twoards the longer rd7 and the rat7 because i have a seal pup elite on the way and the fallkniven is only a little bit longer what knife do you think is best i like the steel of the rd7 but they dont have rep of rat knives so ehat do you guys think rd7 or the rat 7:confused:

Ranger knives stand with the best of them, get yourself that RD7 you've been contemplating. I dare say service will never be an issue.

Everyone is pissed at Ontario right now so I would say RD7. The rat-7 is now a pirated knife so I wouldn't give them any business. The RC-6 would be a better slicer than either BTW but it doesnt make any sense to buy a 6" knife when you have a 5" one. If you will be carrying the seal pup with you on all excursions, you might as well get the 9 incher you'v been wanting. Also the falkniven A2 is longer than the A1 at 8 inches but I prefer a good carbon or tool steel over stainless any day.
I know you will probably not follow this advise (and I dont blame you) but If you already have a small fixed blade, get a good fiskars or wetterling hatchet at one third the price of a Ranger, ontario or Fallkniven.
I am a firm believer in the nessmuk trio, a Small fixed blade, hatchet and a multitool will get you through anything.

Well considering the fact that the rd7 is tougher and stronger than the rat i would choose it every time.

Thats all fine, I love my big bowies and choppers are alot of fun. But if you already have a seal pup at 5" for general utility, you might as well get a large monster for choping, a 7" knife won't chop as well as a 9 incher. Check out the dogfather ( around $170 if you can find one), RD-9 (?), Kershaw outcast ($60), Kabar heavy bowie ($60) or Browning/Barker Competition knife ($140).

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.(except the Ontario)..."spits".
Write them all down on a piece of wood and throw a dart at it with your eyes closed. That's how I got my Ka-bar warthog.:)
