Well I'm kind of in a spot that I have some side cash to get a new knife ( prob about 170 maybe a hair more)

I don't know what to get!! I've been thinking about trying to find a southard on the exchange, then the domino caught my, then I thought I've never owned a benchmade 710

Arrrrg what to do

Manix 2 Lightweight in S110V? I honestly think it's pretty much the current best buy as far as folders are concerned.

Whichever of the three first pop's up
on the exchange.

Sounds like the money is burning a hole in your pocket. I say keep saving until you have a clear idea of what you really want. Might even be able to save enough lolly to buy something better still! ;)

I would only caution that super steels can be a tough proposition to sharpen. I don't want to assume what you may or may not know, but, they don't call it super steel for nothing. I would start with a Rat 1. It's great quality, in a decent steel, that anyone can work with. Or ANYTHING Spyderco in something like VG10. That's a great steel that takes a fantastic edge that is easy to work with. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the advice vegas , I've got a few in m390,s30v,m4,elmax and vg10

I have become pretty proficient with my work sharp ken onion edition

I'm thinking I'm going southard if I can find one on the exchange

I have to agree, as do a large number of folks, since normal knife-shops are all sold out, AFAIK. You may find them on another popular site, if you wish, although that site does NOT support BF.. It seems to be a regular production item, and Spyderco will likely produce and sell a million more pretty soon, but it's a wonderful S110V steel for $110. The knife is pinned so you won't be taking it apart, but the pivot has a screw such that it can be tightened with wear as desired.
I am a Spydie fan from way back. I have had more expensive knives than Spyderco, but not any berrer...for the buck.
Yes, I love PM2's and Sages and Natives and Sebenzas and Hinderers and Striders and customs, but this is the one you "should" get, at some point when available...and even have some money left. And you will NOT need to sharpen this one for a long time. The edge-holding is fantastic.

I think you're making a good choice with the southard. Later on you can customize it if you so choose. I like the one I have and plan on keeping it. I also have the domino which is pretty sweet. I'd move it before the southard, but that's just me. The blade design of the southard is cool looking.

The Southard is SUCH a great knife. I've said it before, that knife is mid-tech level all day. I put a Sheppard Carbon Fiber scale and LBS on mine and it really "customized" it. It's a good size, fantastic materials, and customizable. Not to mention one of my favorite steels currently available. Dang, if I didn't have one, I'd talk myself into it! :)
