How strong is the new Powerlock? From the diagram on the catalog it looks like it has significant mechanical advantage over the traditional lockback, while the levers should keep it from being difficult to operate ala some Triad locks. But when they say its "hands down the strongest lock ever", I've gotta ask- how strong is it? I mean, stronger than the compression or CBB lock? Dayum.

BTW, Tatanka means buffalo, and I'm totally grabbing one of these ASAP.

Maybe I'm confused but I thought "Powerlock" was a trademarked term
owned and used by SOG? This being the Spyderco sub-forum, I'm a
little lost as to the relevance? If it's a collaboration or new product
any links you can add would be appreciated.

There is a new spydero model in the 2014 catalog called the tatanka. It uses the "powerlock"

Ahhh...
I wasn't trying to be "smart" or anything, I really was
confused.
That looks neat. Definitely new to me. Thanks
for the info/clarification. I'll have to research that.

I've got to say, the looks of the Tatanka don't really do anything for me, but given my experiences with Spyderco I know better than to judge dge by aesthetics. Very curious as to the strength of the lock and it I suspect one will find it's way into my collection as well.
