Ok, I'm impressed by the 2011 production Emersons

I received two Emersons today, one CQC-15 and one Super CQC-7. I had concerns and doubts about the f/f of Emerson knives and whether it can ever been improved. I also have criticized EKI on that at numerous occasions. I have to say today however, I'm impressed by the fact that Mr. Emerson is making progress and the quality of production Emersons has been improved.

Looks good, I am glad he is still using real screws. Only wishes are a transition to a different lock design and lower price tag.

Good photos. A 15 has been on my "to buy" list for a while now. I have a Roadhouse, CQC 7 and a super CQC 7. My son has a CQC 15.

Very nice & the F&F looks very good. I don't think we'll be seeing a different lock, unless he decides to make another frame-lock or re-introduce the HD-7 & CQC-12. I've had around 10+ different Emersons, but I only currently have an older CQC-7 (A '99) & a CQC-12.

The f&f has definitely improved compared to my older Emersons, but still waaaaaay behind Spyderco.
Still, it doesn't bother me too much since the designs rock, and they are the best handling knives I've ever had.

Is the knife fully opened in the pic where you show the lockup? Looks like the liner lock is barely touching the blade.

That´s the first production Emerson i see, where the lock stand´s so far on the beginning. I have a MiniCQC7 (build 2011) and the lock stand by 50%. And both liner´s are Titanium, also the non locking side. Lock´s perfectly. Nice Knife!!

Unfortunately Emerson has long abandoned the use of titanium as the non locking side liner. If you are referring to the lack of magnetic properties of that liner, that's because it is a non-magnetic 300 series stainless steel.

The Liner´s on my Emerson are both anodized (i hope my English is correct). Can that non magnetic 300 series stainless steel be anodized?? Thank´s for the Info.
