Ok, is the Rat 1 and Rat 2 carbon fiber or not?

I have watched many youtube videos and googled the question without any real answers. The only video I recall is from Shahbazz showing the inside of the scale. I could take mine apart but still would not know the truth. The main reason I ask is because every other video says it's a sticker, I'm keeping the knife either way. Any help out there?

bladehq says its g10 with cf layer for show.

as for the one nick shabazz showed off, its defiantly not the same as say zt's cf for example. which is a block of cf that's been vacuum bagged and pressed for no voids. aka cf plate.

it would appear to save costs okc just use a layer of cf the rest g10 and then a backing layer of cf.

a lot of affordable knives in cf is just g10 with a layer of cf on the top and or bottom.

if the cf doesn't look squashed you would want to avoid it if you were to want just cf. your also looking for waves on the sides. if its just straight lines, it may be using either unidirectional cf or a more affordable method of layup in comparison to vacuum bag etc.

top is what your looking for when picking real cf plate. bottom is very low cost option. if its just a layer of cf on g10 it should be fine through and regardless the metal liners are the backbone. but certainly not real cf plate. a lower cost cf plate will contain voids which are not favorable in looks or strength.

Thank you for that response, I don't have any other knives that have any type of carbon fiber. You kindly put yourself out for my question.

Thanks Mo2, and thank you PCL for the question. I can confirm the above, the handles are carbon fiber over G10. Solid carbon fiber would have made the pricing a little crazy for us, since the RAT folder is still meant to be a low cost knife. We don't want to raise the price to where it's no longer appealing to the people who carry RAT folders.
