Title says it all,
Is it out yet?
If so, does anyone have any opinions of it?
Lastly, is it worth twice the price of the plain finish?

Its not out yet, though November ain't gonna be over anytime soon :) IMHO it is worth the price for the coating. The boron carbide really makes this little knife very dressy. This is definitely one on my wish list!
 
See Kershaw is as good as their word it's the middle of
November and the Black Chive has started to Ship.

Yup, and they have 12 more days to get the first Whispers out the door. Although as anxious as I am, I'd rather have a knife delayed if it will mean that it will come out of the factory problem free :)

I work part time at a B & M store, and we got ours in this past Wednesday. I got 2 of them(1 for me, 1 for the wife), and like the boron carbide even better than the earlier model of which have 2. The action seems even better than the earlier model(probably because of the slickness of the carbon carbide), and the blades are even more centered. The aesthetics(sp) of them are much prettier.
As far as justifying the extra cost, that is marginal, but I think it is worth it to go the extra $$$.
We are both pleased with ours, and everyone we show them to are highly impressed, and think they are "cute".
