I now use a Kelty back pack with a few items, including a basic load of: Ruger 5 1/2" SS MK II and three mags, 200 Rds Quick Shok ammo, Ontario 12" Bolo machette, Vict Workchamp, Streamlight LED AA Flashlight, Grundig Yachtboy AA Short Wave radio, two Motorola AA walki-talkies, lots of AA batteries, Cell phone, first aid kit, cross word puzzles, toiletries, baby wipes, two fleece blankets, lots of microwavable "cup" meals, Dintymore, Chef Boyardie, Hormel Chilie (these a great snacks and I don't even heat them).... water, and purifyer.

And if you don't mind, what does BTTT mean?

I think I saw this typed at the bottom of a party invitation once. Bring Own Bitch. :D

Danbo,
I always thought that was BYOB... :)

A bug out bag means different things for different people. The one that stays in my truck assures that I can get home or can make out for 2 days until I can get home. Think natural occurances or lock downs. The one in my strong room at home means I can support myself, wife and kids for one week away from home. I have supplies at home for up to three months.

My family has a rally point(farm and farmhouse) in a very rural area for more extensive stays.

Depending on your needs- it can just mean a shaving kit, a little cash and change of clothes...
