Well guys lets see your "survival" sheaths. I just Have a thing for trying to put a extensive survival kit together on my sheaths wether the sheath has pockets or "ranger bands" that i have picked up from you guys here. So whether you use "ranger bands" or have a sheath with pockets i am curious to see how you pack your kits on you sheath. THANX and i look forward to learn some new tricks from you guys.

I think this qualifies:

About all I carry on my sheaths is a sharpening tool and a fire steel.

Heck yeah those are cool as hell. Where can i get and or make the first one?

Well checked out the website bit i am not sure bout the sheath. Is it for knifes Or are you attaching it to your sheath that you already own?

Oh ok that is cool as hell my last question on that particular setup is will that sheath fit any other knifes but the fallniven

it's form fitted kydex- so very knife specific, but he has a long list of popular knives in his "stable" that he can work w/- I think somewhere in his site he might list them all

Sheath looks very nice. I assume it did not come with the pouch. How is the pouch attached? These looks pretty expensive. How much did it cost and how much hassle to get from Europe?

I like the leather belt strap idea. I have a kydex sheath from my chopweiler with a nylon strap and it doesn't sit right. I added a velcro strap at to secure the handle to the strap which cured the problem. Sounds like leather is a better modification.

nope- had to purchase the pouch; has two velcro attachment straps on the pouch, one sits behind the kydex so it can't slip off

don't remember the exact cost, but it was very in line what other kydex makers were charging- even with shipping; he was good getting back to me w/ a cost

he has a myriad of designs to choose from and am certain would entertain any custom ideas as well

I personally prefer a form fitted kydex sheath to ensure retention, but if you're looking for a general knife sheath that will fit various knives, Spec-Ops now makes the Basic Modular Knife Sheath, which has PALS ladders on the front of it to put various MOLLE pouches on. It comes in 2 sizes. I've never used one but their old survival sheath and the Combat Master and Jump Master were highly regarded.

I may pick up one of these just to play with.

Here is another Martin Swinkels sheath. He makes all the sheaths for my hard-use knives.
I have not seen nicer Kydex made yet.
