OK, let's skip the KISS. Need a suggestion for around $25 knife

I am a lead Ranger for Christian Service Brigade, a boy's scouts type organization with a Christian focus.

Thought I'd get the Ranger's helping me a thank you present. Aside from the Leatherman Micra, what suggestions do you have? Also, a decent on-line retailer suggestion would help.
 
Try a Kershaw Vapor. Only 20 bucks at your local WalMart. Or try the Buck 303 Cadet with the PolyPearl handles. Both knives are hard to beat.

The Vapor or a CRKT Mirage are hard to beat at this price. You should be able to find the Mirages on eBay pretty easily.

Also, there are lots of good Victorinox models around that price.
 
I second the CRKT Mirage, I have 6 different Models of that design. Why?? You can't beat it for the price. You can go on Ebay as
Revolvergeek mentioned and get one for as low as $12. and there are many styles and configurations to choose from. It may only be $12-$30 for one. But I would pay $50 and still walk away with a smile.:)
 
I would go for the Victorinox Adventurer model Swiss Army Knife. It has about a 3.25" locking main blade, 3 screwdrivers (one on the can opener), can opener, cap lifter, awl, tweezers and toothpick. It is only two springs thick and light for its size. It is sheeple-friendly and even comes in versions with and without a Boy Scounts of America logo. The only thing it lacks is one-hand opening. It goes for around $23 on the net.

A mid-sized SAK is definitely a good suggestion for boy scouts.

Other than that, I´d take a look at the larger carbon steel Opinels. Very inexpensive, good users.
 
A Victorinox Deluxe Tinker would also be a great folder for "Boy Scouts".
 
A Victorinox Trailmaster, Huntsman, or any other with a saw for a folder, or for a fixed blade a Newt Livesay Woo, Cold Steel Paraedge, Bushman, or MiniTac, or a Camillus Arclight. You might also want to check out www.survival.com to get some of Ron Hood's videos.
