So looks like you convinced us to go with the Phat Bob. I'm fondling it as I type! An absolute homerun! Thanks man! So what's your next recomendation for us? Not to sound like a total geek but your Jedi mind tricks make me buy knives...

:D

Not mind tricks, if I could do that, my wife would be more, um, involved. :D

How about something big, and nasty. Or perhaps we should have an indepth look at the 1217, my first real knife.

Should be an interesting weekend, I hope. :D

I love the knife, don't get me wrong, who wouldn't...I have gifted it two two former Marines incuding my own Father. I'm just saying...I never even knew the Phat Bob existed and now...well wow! My Mom would have spent $100 on my knife of choice and I chose the Phat Bob and am thrilled! Call it loyalty (kiss ass) or what you will but I respect your opinion on knives, seems like you might actually use them or something. Give me some Kabar outside the box knife that is a diamond in the rough that we will all love! I have to admit the Phat Bob is going to be pretty hard to top but if anyone can it would be you!

Ok, I'm grabbing my new catalog, and placing an order soon. :D

You like to fish?

I live on the Oregon Coast! Hell yes!!! On shore, off shore, lake, jetti, river, stream, that's what we do here!
Did I mention that my Dad and Grandpa were gillnet fisherman in Alaska and on the Columbia after their military time, we used to have contests on who could shoot the most seals in our nets! Not as politically correct as it used to be...

Cool. Then we got a few things we can look at then.

My Phat Bob arrives tomorrow. We'll see then if it manages to make it into my pocket. I am kinda doubting it, because I just got my Darrel Ralph Gun Hammer in, but you never know!

I'm a betting man. I'll put my money on it finds its way in there.

Is that a bet for "finds its way in there on a permanent basis?" Cause right now I can't get the Gun Hammer out of my pocket. I actually slept with it next to me, which I don't usually do. Hopefully the wife doesn't get jealous... I am definitely looking forward to getting it in though. Also have some fixed blade fun coming with it too...

Yeah, I'm betting "permanent basis". The Gun Hammer is a tough knife, but I promise, the Phatty will out cut it, and since it cost less, I bet when you start thinking, "What if my Gun Hammer gets lost? I'm SCREWED!!" The Phatty will then, be you choice for EDC carry. :D

My God man! That is one expensive knife! Yep I wouldn't use it...I will be Paht Bobbing it for 1/6th of the price. The knife is just an amazing value and the quality is crazy for the price and cuts, wow!!! Mine was a present so the sentimental value is high but it is a user for sure and that's what I'm all about! I'd be too afraid to scratch that knife...

Heh, I'm all about using knives. That's what they're made for. Phat Bob is jumping in my pocket for the next week to see how I feel about it. Initial impressions were that it's good, but so far it's not calling to me. Cutting ability is on par with my others though. It's certainly a heck of a nice knife for the cost. Will keep you all updated.

Fantastic, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it, crimson.

Working on my review now. I'll put it up in knife reviews/testing because it includes only one Ka-Bar offering. Thanks for suggesting the knife, it's certainly very good, and I don't think I'll take you up on your offer to buy it from me.

FANTASTIC!! I guess its fitting in pretty well, then. :D

Well, it's a great knife for sure. I don't think it's going to make my EDC rotation on a regular basis though, until I've done some modifications to it. I'm currently on 8 pages of review on my "Battle for my pocket ala Clich" thread, at which point you can see a little about what I'm talking about. Handle design just isn't doing it for me yet, just feels too blocky and bulky for me, and the lack of lefty options are a downer as well. It's got another day to change my mind though. Sure is a nice cutter!
