OK, my HIKV withdrawal is getting painful

I never knew how much I miss the DOTD's, and the oh so sweet bliss of knowing there is a triangle box in the mail to me.

Auntie's business trip was bad enough (i know it needs to be done), and then just as I was recovering, her computer went on the "blink" (computers just know when to go down, you know?)....lol, I guess karma wanted to see how long I could last with HIKV withdrawal symptoms.

I guess this shark is going to be on frenzy (warning given, put hands in the water at owner's jeopardy :)) once auntie's back, just to sooth the withdrawal symptoms a little.

I figure with the last batch of blind date knives that everyone did so well on maybe she can just use the phone. When you get the urge you just call and say Ill take it. She'll send it. No pictures, now description, just feed the need.

Course I'll have to have someone call for me since I'm deafer than the proverbial stump but whatever it takes ya know.
Course with Auntie's super powers maybe I don't even need to call, she'll just send me a blade and a number now and then. Hey that might work good.

OK grandpa, your not helping.

Now my brain is saying, just call auntie, and say you'll take the next DOTD.

OMG, if it's that easy, I better go find another job, or two, or three...lol

Blade-of-the-month club. Another Bawanna innovation.
Yall might be onto something:thumbup: Remember the Colombia record club thing where you get 12 "free" records if you promise to buy a new one and pay shipping and handling every month for the next year! Just sit back and let the Khuks roll in:p

I might be ok, my oldest son texted and said I had "another knife" delivered today. I don't know how he knows it's a knife although he's familiar with the highly coveted triangle box. But I'm not expecting no triangle box???
Maybe this Khuk of the month plan is already under way?

I remember the Readers Digest book club. Same program, I got a ton of them. Think I did the record thing back in the day too. I was a sucker for every offer that came along.

Yes, I do remember those days....ahhh...the days of youth.

OK, I admit I did the Columbia House one and I also did the Readers Digest books, but I could really get behind the HI Khuk of the month. Select a price that is a good deal for the Kami's, Auntie and the Forumites. Have the kami's create a unique blade or one of the older blades that aren't as commonly available anymore each month for that price. Have enough made for the people who signed up and maybe a couple extras for sharks who can't afford a package. Or, you can do it like they do those fruit of the month, sign up for 1 every 6 months, 1 every quarter or 1 every month depending on your budget. Would be a way to get some of the special blades we don't get a chance to see very often, plus a guaranteed string of sales at good prices. Plus with a scheduled set amount I could budget for it so it wouldn't cause me to be a toothless shark afterwards. Win/Win/Win. Bawanna, hits a homerun again, I guess when the threat of HIKV withdrawls is imminent self preservation kicks in.

6 months? quarterly? monthly? That's a long time. I was thinking weekly or better yet daily.

I think I might be a bit greedy or something.

EMS on the next stag handled kerambit wherever you are.

We're not greedy, just hungry sharks, all this swimming around with no chum or bait in the water, is starting to make me see khuks floating in front of my eyes!

My oh my, wait till yall see what was in the triangle box I got today. I gotta just start a teaser on account of I didn't take no pictures yet but it's a huge wow factor. I'll try to snap some photos in a bit, I'm a little used up today for some reason.
I'll go hit the shower and hope for a second wind or something.

I do have to lodge a complaint with the postal service they played rough house with the triangle box, not torn but dented and squished. The contents were not damaged in anyway, lucky for them. Would have been bloody ugly let me tell ya. I've got it straightened out and I think it'll still be fine for my wind chime but really, it was no way to treat a perfect triangle box. Some federal employee's ya know?

Ok boys and girls this is the way to ease the pain of HIKV virus even though it ain't a khuk.
Check this out.

These were made from scratch by our own in house kami Bookie down yonder in corn patch. I think he's the only kami in all of corn patch. He done these a long time ago and he claims they been in his "junk" drawer.
I was saving up to buy em from him and then the planets aligned and some mules got loose and some horses traded and well here they are.
Once again I think I got the better end of this deal. Maybe send down a Clysdale and we'd be closer.
Pictures knocked me over and they don't hold a candle to the real deal in hand, how he got the damascus such a perfect consistent pattern just baffles me no end. I believe he said 152 layers. That's heap of hammer swinging. It's really something. Not sharpened as he didn't plan it for a user and didn't want to cut nobody admiring the pattern which was thoughtful as I'd probably already have bled out by now. But the edge is perfect and straight as can be. Mind boggling.
Which brings us to the fine tomahawk, again from scratch and detailed perfectly with an awesome tiger maple handle. It just begs to be carried around with me. Very very cool.

Picture sucks but check out the pattern on the blade.

And a little pile of wood I plan to put to good use. Can't wait to get a little oil and stain on it to bring it to life.

Hope to be around long enough to teach this little girl a little wood craft with this here hawk. They both are sweet.

Thanks Bookie and the triangle box was a nice gesture too. You da man.

You're welcome. Joe and welcome to them. Hug and kiss that little girl for me. Something about them new little ones.......

wow , awesome work, great additions to the collection bawanna, and great work bookie, and great work uh bawannas kid?

Wow...those are cool. Bookie made them? They're awesome. The pattern on the damascas is gorgeous, Bawanna is right, so perfectly done.

Good job all around Bookie, the damascus, the hatchet, the baby, all very cool and it sure took a lot of talent to put those together.

Bookie can I be your friend too...........:D. Fantastic job sir, I love me some hawks and that damascus is just sick. Bawanna you are getting some nice stuff lately man.

+1 on all of the positive comments about Bookie and Bawanna's kid's manufacturing talents :D
Bookie, The extremely clean lines of both those pieces, but especially that dagger remind me of the work on your dutch gun. You do have a beautiful eye for smooth clean lines. It is funny, There is the two sides of hand made, the small differences and the slight variations that are part of most truely hand made items. Then there is the clean almost perfect lines that are too good for mass manufacturing. You know it is handmade because there is no way mass produced anything could be that clean and tight.

Then there is that awesome little wriggler who seems to be wrapping Grandpa around her little finger already (and appropriately so).

Great stuff Bawanna, enjoyed seeing all your new acquisitions :D
