The blade has play in it period. If I tighten the pivot up enough to make it stop, you can hardly open it. Its not a lot of play, but a little bit is too much. What do I do??? For what these things cost, and thier reputation, Im looking for ZERO blade play...none! Is this normal?

Any help????

Send it in and we will either adjust it or replace it.

Sorry! I know you guys probably have plenty to do without my whining but Im really picky about my tools, and I have always considered buck to make serious tools!

Is this something you guys experience reguraly in this line or is min just tweaked?

Also how should I send it? To whoms attention... Should I include a note about the few difficulties? Thanks you for your response!!!!

No problem,

We don't get very many Strider Buck knives back, but sometimes they need some proffessional adjustment to tune them up. Mr. Murphy is always along for the ride, so sometimes a couple slip through. Send it in to me and we'll square it away.

Runsalone,
My 880SP works great. The action is smooth and there is NO blade wiggle – zero blade play. Lock up is solid. Your knife has problems and you need to send it in to Josh Rummerfield. Buck stands behind there products and will make thing right. It is kind of a pain to have to send it in for R/R but once you get it back, you’ll see it was worth it. :D

Thanks guys Ill probably have it shipped of in a day or so........Bummer :grumpy:

Oh well these things happen and Ive NEVER heard anything but good about bucks warranty. :D

WOW  That was fast!!! Thanks a million!

Two questions, if you get around to it

Did I do the return part right? Should I ever have to do it again.

What was wrong with it?? Was it really messed up or am I a big dummy? :D

I guess technically thats 3 but whose counting :p

Return was fine.. no need to prepay return to you, we will pay for that. :)

Seemed to be a combo of lockbar tension and grind on blade a little short.. with production tolerancing, sometimes that happens. Not that it should have gotten out into the field.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff!

Hey we all know murphy is an employee at every company, even Buck...

Ill put in a good word here when I get the blade back!!
Thanks for all the help to everyone!

Well, Buck fixed the 880---They sent me a new one! :D Thats what I call "fixed"

The warranty from this company is amazing, they did more than was nessecary to ensure customer satisfation. That is all I will say. ;)
