I had tried a FBM some time ago, but really didn't care for it too much. It was too heavy and didn't have Mag scales, so it didn't fit my hand very well. However, I just got my skinny ASH1 and couldn't be more pleased. This is the right length, has mag scales (obviously), and just feels right. Glad I persisted. Just wanted to share the joy. :D

Congratulations, Mark! :thumbup: I handled a skinny ASH at Blade and I must say I was very impressed with it. Now get out and beat her and post pics!! :D

I'm just glad that one made it home with me. I, too, really like the skinny. Way better than the regular thickness.

Mark: I too fell in love with the Skinny ASH1. Then I made a terrible mistake. It's too late for me, but I can warn others. If you like that knife and are content with it, absolutely do not ever handle a SARsquatch.
 
The solution to the ASH1 vs SARq problem is easy... have BOTH! :D

Even with a CF SARq in my possession, I still think I prefer my ASH1LE if I had to pick between them. If I knew I was going to be doing a lot of chopping... well the SARq wins that battle.
 
i got a sage skinny ASH when they first came out.....then i stupidly traded it before i even got it from thwe company store.....


thanks to knifehunter, i will get another chance with the skinny ASH.....


one of the best feeling knifes in the hand.....

Bingo. My wife sent me my ASH-1 while I was in Iraq, but it was just toooo much of a good thing for me give up my light and fast HOG-SJT. I was on my way home when the Skinny ASHs came out, and that was one of those rare occaisions when I ordered first and told Honey-bunch later. She forgave me, woohoo!!!
