Sebbie and Strider folder owners (or those who have been able to beat the crud out of them at one point or another)
1 - Would love to know about the stuff you have put your knife through - that makes you think "this is one awesome knife", or made you think man I wish I had got a ________ instead.
2 - If you have both, would love to know which performed better at said task.
3 - If part of your testing caused an issue with the knife that made you lose confidence in it (even if temporarily until resolved), I'd like to know that too, and what you did to rectify it.
4- Specific question to Strider Folder owners, have you ever pryed on something and caused horizontal blade play - never pryed with mine yet - but I have some concern that the G10 side would have an issue - but then again the bull pivot, makes me think maybe I'm wrong..
5 - Is there any documented head to head testing between the Reeve Folders and the Striders that you can point me toward?
----------
I'll start out by saying that I find my Sebs a better at general cutting because of the hollow grind, but my SNG on the other hand has a little more weight in the blade, and for the size, it is neat to me what a good little food and branch chopper it can be since you can hold in the knife on the lock choil, without having to hold on the blade choil.
Also, I find the Strider easier to use the back side as a hammer for light tasks since it is inclosed on the back side of the handle.
I have neer had any issues with a Seb that made me want to get rid of one, but, I have however let a Strider go, because of very slight blade play once that developed out of no where, but the SNG I have now is thoroughly enjoyed.
Be Well,
