I'm sure you guys are getting tired of seeing my stuff, so this will be the last picture post for a while. Need to get started on some orders and try to work in a little bow hunting. This folders been done and laying around waiting for gold screws I ordered to come in. Well, they got here and then I found out that there quite a bit smaller then the stainless screws that I had already recessed for, so I had to use the stainless screws anyway. I swear its a learning experience every day. :D
OAL- 5 7/8", 2 1/2" blade, 1084 & 4800 powered metal. heat colored ti liners and screws, and a damascus back spacer.
Thanks for lookin and what do you think.

Bill

I never get tired of seeing your stuff Bill!

It looks amazing, you've been busy!

Super nice Bill. Keep the pictures coming. Always look forward to your posts.

Nice folder Bill! Do you feel heat treated titanium oxides are tougher than anodized? Thanks. John Lloyd

Great looking damascus Bill. Have you ever considered using panhead screws instead of those torx screws? You could filework them into a flower or star pattern to match the damascus pattern.

nice must have been made from the 2 pound hammer right ;) with lite taps :D
nice work Bill..

Bill, the darker background is the 1084, and the designs are from the 4800, so what are you making the cookie cutters out of? Or am I all turned around here as usual?

Thank you all for the nice comments and compliments, truly are appreciated.

John L. - I really don't know, but I've been told by people that know a great deal more then me that heat colors holds up quite a bit better then anodized. Mr. Hanson ( sunfish) or Mr. Gedraitis (striper28) would be the ones that could answer that question better then me. What do you guys say to Johns question?

Don - about a year. I really like making them but they wear me out. I'm so slow and I pull out so much hair every time I work on one, it takes several weeks for me to regain the hair loss and for my nerves to get settled down. :D It is a nice change from fixed blades and hawks, but they are nerve racking, for me anyway.

Chuck, I have enough trouble with file work on the liners, a tiny screw would be the death of me. Maybe some day I'll look into ordering some. I really wanted to make some screws out of the damascus like I did the thumbstub, but there was no way I could with the tools I have. Its work like Yours and Dons that inspires me to try the stuff I try to do. Thanks to you both for all the headaches. :D :D

Dan, I don't even have a 2# hammer, if it can't be done with a 5# hammer around here it doesn't get done. :D

Robert, Nickle sheeting.

Thanks again,

Bill

Outstanding -- don't stop posting pics, you give some serious eyecandy and that one takes the cake.

Now tell me more about this "regain the hair loss" part of knifemaking. :D

Nickel sheeting. I knew that I think. I once saw a DVD of a guy using super glue to fasten the nickel sheeting onto a square of cardboard. This then would fit down into the outer holding tube. Ends were welded on (just inside the holding tube), a shot of WD-40 also before welding up, and it's ready to go. Sound close Bill? Open for suggestions, getting ready to try one.

Bill.....geeze....that damascus will put my eyes out if I look at it too long.....

Awesome...just awesome stuff!!

Thanks everyone.
I lied, I found a 52100 folder blade on my work bench this morning that needs finishing, so I started on it today. It amazing how many blades get set a side for future completion, and then end up getting lost. So I figured I best try to finish this one before it gets lost for good. ;)

Thanks again all,

Bill
