im thinking of refinishing a Tracker, ive got the sandpaper (600-2000 grit) going to use a block of wood and test out on an old rambo(1) knife i have. question is, how exactly can i get the tracker finish out from between the saw teeth/gut hook? my only idea is folding sandpaper in half and working it between the teeth with grit on each side (facing out) and going to town.

any other suggestions?

Cord, string, leather boot laces. Roll in a paste of silicone carbide, boron carbide, or chromium oxide. Draw the string, cord, through the gut hook. Saw teeth you are going to need a very fine 3 corner file for would be my guess.

Can the finish be taken off by stripper of some sort ? I dont own one so I don't know what they used for a coating.
Be sure to wear a mask when your sanding that off ! (no , not one of these)

LUCHA MADNESS! thanks guys for the idea, could only find 800 grit at my local lowes.... no lower, no higher, must have been a rush on sandpaper yesterday. lol.
