And a buckle. This one is a rather large "California clip" style; very popular from the 1870's on; well into the 20th cen.

I cast this from sterling silver, it weighs in at almost 80 grams. Its done in old western style/1880's brightcut fashion.

I love this stuff.

First, I set it in orange shellac over a wood jig, then I do the layout in pencil over chinese white....

Richard this was done with hand gravers; simple gravers mounted in wooden "push" handles (hand powered) for the wriggle and round, and a 120o in my GraverMax for the line cuts. Hammer and chisel would be overkill in silver; its so soft and "cutable" you don't need much power to do the work.... not so with steel ;)
