The steel has changed over time. I don't know all the details but it was made with 13c26 at one time -just a couple of years ago maybe. And I know it was made with a 440 steel at one time - 440a or c. 440A I think. The current production is with 14c28n.
Kershaw first started out with a well heat treated 440A, then moved to 13c26 for a short stint and now 14c28n for the higher rust resistance and still amazing edge holding capabilites. so youll have to figure out the date.
