that ended up with one of the new maxpedition fixed blades? I tried to order one from their website - all out of stock! I know about the ongoing IP debate on these. I'm not interested in that aspect of it at all, so keep your moral and political comments outta my thread. I just want to see if anybody on here ended up with one, and more importantly, how is it? How are the ergos/craftsmanship? These blades are beautiful and affordable and I can't wait to get my hands on one. Or two, or maybe several...

So nobody on here got one? I had a bad feeling that they might not be "out of stock" but still "under debate"... Well if anybody actually got one, chime in please!

20 minutes isn't long enough to let a post marinate... especially on a Sunday when most people aren't surfing the web they're at church/spending time with family/housework.

Thanks for reminding me. Almost forgot to marinate the skirt steak.

Oh, I know! This is just frustrating the hell out of me. I have been researching this for a while and can't find anybody selling them, nor anybody who actually wound up with one. I have searched and asked around and nobody seems to know anything. csisland - I am sorry if my post seemed a little harsh man. I have been trying to track these blades down and have been getting nowhere. My apologies sir. I am really hoping that they bring these to market. I will buy at least 3 of them!

Now, everybody out there marinating and cooking meat - take 5 seconds to respond to my thread!!! I want it now now now!!! Just kidding fellas, and sorry for the snark... but seriously if anybody has any info let me know please.

Well it is still questionable if these will be made available or not.

There was a serious amount of complaints about them being shown at the SHOT Show 2014, since they are direct copies of Maddog Knives.

However, Maxpedition has run ads for them in the past two issues of Blade magazine, so I guess that means they will make it to market after all.

I certainly hope so! I know they look like mad dogs. At the very least, they "borrowed heavily" from the design. At worst you could say they are direct ripoffs that were changed just enough not to get sued over. I do see subtle differences like the rounded choil, the materials, and the angle of the handles.

I don't care about that aspect of it. I have always wanted a mad dog knife, but they are far out of my price range. I very much wish they had just done this legit and teamed up and gave Kevin his due. I have a feeling this thread wouldn't even exist... but it does and I want some of these knives! D2 blades, kydex, bad ass ergos for around one bill? Who wouldn't want one? I want several!

Ok, so NOW does anybody have one of these? How is it?

If anybody has one of the small size, could you shoot a pic of it next to another easily identified knife? I'd like to get a good idea of the size.... Kinda torn between the small and medium sizes. The large size isn't legal for me to carry it here.

After perusing the Max site, it does appear all knives, fixies and folders are in stock. Is there something special about these knives ( I don't see it), or is there a particular model that's not on their website? Which knife do you speak of?

Anybody have one in hand yet? I'm looking for opinions on that handle material and a pic of the small size next to something for scale.

Haven't been able to find anything about the actual knives. There's plenty out there about the controversy, but nothing about the actual knives.

Are you looking for a specific model or something? Cause if you're just looking for any of the new Maxpedition fixed blades in general I gotta say you must not have looked real hard... BladeHQ has several different models listed as in stock, so does Knifecenter, Amazon has a couple models listed too.

AntDog;I don't thin' Ive' ever seen someone want a knife so bad! MAX should send you for free just for the enthusiasm. Good Gad mon. get a grip....

That's what I'm looking for. I know where to buy them.
