Does anyone happen to have a large ( longer than 12 inches) Pacific Triton Conch shell in good condition?

Yeah, sure! I think it's in good condition anyway, but my wife could speak to that better than me.

Oh! Sorry, you said "conch!" Must have misread it. :D ;):p

Nope, can't help you there...

Those things are illegal here because they sound like the mating call of the Artic Whale. My uncle Johan Ahabsson lost his leg trying to learn how to play one of those. :p

Just kidding Danny. I know you're serious, but I would bet you would have far more luck getting one in Japan than about anywhere else outside Polynesia. The Japanese have a special talent for stripping the oceans and ocean floors bare of anything even remotely edible or saleable, so I don't know where you would do better. Beautiful shell BTW.

Mines only about 9"...was lucky to get it back during my Okinawa trip in one piece.

One of the problems with women understanding measurement is that they think this (holds hands 4 inches apart) is a foot."

I am planning on making a Horagai, a conch battle trumpet. One of the many accessories of the japanese budo dudes.

Please post pics of the process Danny.
