Ok to use Mothers Mag on a 1x30 belt or a buffer?

I've got a knife with light scratches, can't even feel them with my finger, but they look bad. I've heard good things about Mother's Mag and have just got some.

Try it out.

Probably won't work though, you will put a nice polish on the surface but any deep scratches will remain. Mothers is a fine polish

Which is more aggressive - I got some abrasives from Truegrit: Green or Tripoli (brown)?

I use mother's for Stropping. Not sure about the sander but I've used it with a dremel and it left a much deeper scratch pattern then by hand. The instructions say to wipe it off when it turns grey and with power equipment this is basically instantaneous. No sure if it loses its effectiveness once it is clogged with steel like this. But like they said it won't remove scratches really. Mother's says the particle size is proprietary and won't release it. But I've read on here that it is .05 micron. Aluminum oxide I think.

Mothers is not formulated for use on a buffer, so it won't stay on the wheel and will be messy.
Use tripoli first, then the green on seperate wheels. Then hand rub with Mothers.
