Ok to wait between first and 2nd/3rd tempering?

I read that you were supposed to temper immediatly after quenching a blade. If I immediatly put a blade in the oven for the first hour long session of a triple temper, would it harm the blade to wait a day before the second and third tempers?

It's the first temper that's really important .The second temper could wait a day.
