While looking for a SAR 5 I found this site, and I have to say, wow this knife is awesome looking. Is this a real blade? Most likely a Ganza?

Whatever, I just want to know if any of you hogs have one?

This is the site:

This knife is called Mini EU 17. It's a military overrun model. Not many of these around, but if you look to Exchange section of thisd forum I think you'll find one ;)

the SAR5 has been called one of the best of '08, especially at the price for which it was offered. It's a good design, however the Euro is a different monster. The Sar was made to be a bushcraft blade, the EU is a fighter. I did see one not too long ago on the EE. Good luck. I'm sureyou'll love either, but you'll COVER the EU.

That you Dave?

The EU 17 came in three sizes: mini, standard, and magnum. They were a special over-run offer some years ago.

I saw a couple on the exchange just the other day ;)

I got one you can buy. You do have a new Harley to trade me. right?

Seriously, the Mini is a really great blade. Mine has a good home right here.

I don't know about the SAR5 being a "flop", Jerry might not have liked it much, but it has a pretty big following around here.

+1

True, the handle can be improved, but some time with wet sandpaper ... or a short trip to an artiste like Ducci ... and that problem goes away.

Remember, a person's reaction to a knife tends to be subjective. It does NOT make Jerry happy, but that does not mean it's a bad knife.

The EU debuted in August 2004. It took "two weeks" for the mini and mag to appear and complete the set. :D The stock was between 1/4" and 5/16", full flat grind and a sweet handle shape.
You can see all three in this old pic.....starting from the left......
Basic 9, Magnum EU17, Argonne Assault 10th Anniversary, SH-E CSI blade, ZT SH-E, EU17, Basic 7, (Grand) Piano Key, Euro 6, NO-E, Mini EU17, BA-III
