If your reading this I doubt its you.
Just got back from a local supplier (don't want to use his name but you all know him). He's being Freaking sued!!!!!
He sold a BurrKing to a novice knifemaker a few years ago. After having the grinder for about two years the owner did something really stupid. For those of you who don't know what the older BurrKings were like, it is the same configuration as the new HardCores. But, it had a platen between the contact and drive wheels. The platen was set at about a 45deg angle to the floor, sloping back toward the user.
Well this bozo was tapering on the platen. He was holding the blade with his bare hands, and he had the tip of the blade pointed straight at HIS GUT. He had also left the work rest attached and had it positioned over the contact wheel. Well, of course this rocket scientist lost control of the blade and it shot down the belt. It then wedged itself between the workrest and the contact wheel. This caused the blade to shoot out like a missle straight into his gut.
Now this jacka#$ is sueing our friend because they did not check to see if he had enough training to use the machine safely!!!!
This is to the tune of $750,000. What a bunch of BullS%*t!!!!
