Just talked to the owner of this one. He's so tickled about it (gift from the girl friend), I thought I'd share a photo with my mentors here:

Nope. No bolsters on that one. Just an optical illusion. The plunge line has a strange shape. At 3/16th thick and only 3 1/4" long and 1 1/2" wide, that blade has an extreme distal taper.

I forgot to mention. Tess Neilson (J.'s better half) made a really cool custom sheath for it. Gotta add that picture. Makes for a very compact setup on the belt and an awesome cutting package in the hand.

People are funny: A few people just flip over this knife design and others are completely disinterested. I can put this knife next to a 5.5" clip point. People will like one or the other, but not both.
