Got this from Astronomy Picture of the Day: The Sky in Motion

I had to let it load through in pieces, then it played smoothly.
Next, look on the left for playlist and you'll get more shows.
I will be busy with this for days!

Thanks for the link! Those vids are incredible pieces of work. Imagine taking hundreds of pictures to make such a video possible.

Cool stuff!

Isn't that PROOF that the universe evolves around us?;)

great, like I don't have enough distractions already........

It is really cool. Thanks, Esav.

It has been so many years since I used to sit out on the lawn watching the sky, watching the stars moving across the south, and the planets crawling past the stars. This was a nice reminder. Of course, in those days, I didn't have the background music to go with it, just the occasional cricket. :)

Cool a lil creepy in the sense that the silhouette of the trees and horizon line plus the rich color in the pictures is surreal.

What, in the Bronx? You had a lawn?:eek::eek:

Seriously, are you talking about your NYC days? Wasn't there a problem with the ambient light?

Of course, if you are talking about your little corner of Jersey, then I understand. I've been there. It's as black as the Earl of Hell's waistcoat out there. Black as the soul of a Wall Street Trader. Black as the heart of a Big three auto executive. Black as....

We moved to a house in Westchester after I got out of grade school. I lived there till I got out of high school. Later on, I moved back to NYC.

New Jersey, around here, is so light-polluted I can hardly see down the block, let alone the sky, for the "security" lights in this town. There is a strong glow on the horizon even in fairly dark areas.

My close friend lives in Boonton Township. Dark as the furthest corner of Hell. This summer, I am hoping to go to his place so we can set up a nice telescope for our kids.

I know--I drov e through there last summer. In a bit of a hurry; otherwise I would have tried giving you & Ken a call....

It's a nice little town. Convenient area. I could even get into NYC easily if I cared to anymore. The very heartland of civilization. :p

Really? I only know of the other New York City--the one including Manhattan, da Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. Where's yours? I would be interested in visiting this heartland of civilization.

:D
