I just ordered a Lahar to replace my trusty SOG Twitch II.

I hope it was a good decision.

What's of note is that if you disregard the Black Out I owned for a month or so many years ago, this will be my first Kershaw.

Blackout/whilrwind are nice knives. I think the lahar is a notch above that F&F wise. You will likely be happy with it. One thing of note is that that the Lahar in general comes wicked sharp. Sharper than most Kershaws so watch yer digits. Congrats on your purchase and I wish you many years of happy troublefree use.

from the bottom of this jerks heart, you are welcome! you'll love the Lahar. great egros, sharp as can be (it goes through cardboard like a laser). enjoy!

Well.. I've carried a BM 710 for years and years, but I finally came to the realization that it was time for a change. I bought a SOG Twitch II. It's a nice little nice, but nothing really special.

I was between the Lahar, the Cyclone, the JYDII, and the Speed Bump. (I know, all fine choices). The Lahar spoke to me the most though.

I'm sure I'll love it. Thanks much!

sarcasim glockman, sarcasim. we're good jerks because he is getting a Lahar. we'll be better jerks when he realizes he loves the knife.

Lol...please note my second post where I said "I'm sure I'll love it, Thanks much!"

It's ok Glockman. You're probably just secretly upset that I didn't choose the Cyclone ;)

Yah, I know, but the last time I was called a jerk, I knocked the guy OUT with one punch to the side of his neck..

Seriously, your next Kershaw SHOULD BE a Cyclone. They really ARE an excellent folder..

I can suddenly imagine a stark raveing mad Glockman bearing down on me........Stop the violence!!! I wonder is playing dead would stop a Glockman attack like it supposedly does with bears? Maybe a question for the Prac. Tac. forum.

My buddy here at work bought a mini cyclone today as well. I'm thinking after I see his I might very well end up ordering one of them too. :)

Naw, that wouldn't help...I can sense fear.:D.:D.

...And I don't get mad or violent...One punch to the neck doesn't take enough time to be called violence.:D.:D.

I've got a SOG Twitch ll also,......got it a few months ago from a local mall sports shop.

........but i'm not real thrilled with it. The lockup is entirely too loose for my taste,.....though i haven't tried to tighten it up yet. I flicked it open a few times and put it in a drawer. By loose i mean when open i can grab hold of the blade and with very little effort it moves quite a bit from side to side. It just "feels" cheap......

I know it's a small, lightweight knife,.......but geeze so is my Buck 551,....the little brother of the Buck 112 and 110,.......which i also have. I'd trust my fingers to the Buck 551 long before the same tasks for the Twitch ll. Granted the SOG is assisted opening,.......but they're both lockbacks and close in size.

Anybody out there with a tight lockup on the Twitch ll ?

You'll love the Lahar. I really like mine. It goes well with the Junkyard Dog II. Hint....hint....:D
