Thanks guys! 30 some years ago a freind of mine showed me an unusual knife his uncle had given him. Said he brought it home from the war. I don't know which war, WWII or Korea. But thanks to the info provided on this forum I now know it to be an Okapi 907e. My freinds collection was stolen some years ago but piece by piece he has started a new one. He still talks about that "weird" knife his uncle gave him. I searched the posts for this particular knife and found Ragweed Forge. So, I've ordered a couple. One for him, one for me. In reading the posts I learned that this is a common knife used by street gangs and criminals in Africa. They are able to modify it to open one handed. Now I'm not aspiring to be a street thug but I would like to know if any of you will share such modifications or know how. I figure it's probably as simple as driving out the pivot pin and grinding off a few of the racketing bumps. I plan to use mine as a general beater and farm knife but find that the ease of one hand opening is an asset when you have one hand already occupied. I'm a newbie on the forum but I don't think this request will violate the rules, given the multitude of one hand and assisted opening knives currently on the market.
