So I have a BK 11. I had a BK 7 but gave it to my brother when he deployed. I am wanting another but I can't decide between a 7 or 9. Any guidance would be appreciated

If I said 7, I'd be lying. So....9! It really is a great blade. Plus, you know, 9 out of 10 unicorns recommend the 9....the other 10% would rather you didn't get a knife at all. ...

Go with the 9 for sure.

I say get the BK-12 (RSK MK2) instead of the 7 if you do decide to go that size.

What will you be using it for, mostly?

I think most would agree that there isn't much that the 11 and 9 couldn't accomplish together. You have the 11 for smaller detailed work and the 9 will be a better chopper and span wider wood when battoning compared to the 7.

The 7 was designed primarily as a combat knife and a do - most - things - well knife. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong!

I'm gonna agree with Dex and say spend a little more for the 12 if you really want something in that size. Probably my favorite Becker one knife solution. ...with the 4 as a close second.

This, fo sho!
Don't have a 12 yet, but I handled one at a show a few weeks ago and loved it!
It is on my very short list of "knives that I need"
Nothing wrong with the 7, love mine, but I think I would use a 12 more.

hey, since bladehq is on the paid dealer list, they have bk4s for cheap, go look...
Knifecenter is on the paid list and they have the 4, 5, and 15 for cheap.
If I could spare the coin I would have one. Hell, I might go without dinner for 2 nights to get one!

Need to know more. 9 if you'll also have a folder or small fixed. 10 or 16 if it is a one knife only situation. The 7 is perfect for what you did with it. Gave it to someone being deployed. But for camping/ bushcraft the 7 works but there are better beckers, IMHO.
