I took the plunge. Always liked the look of the BK5 and since it was discontinued and deeply discounted I decided to finally add a Becker to my collection. I hope you enablers are happy now. :p

Excellent choice, sir. The 5 is one of my favorite blades--phenomenal blade geometry and performance!

Congrats! I traded one off awhile ago for a Manix 2xl. I love the manix, but I sorely missed the 5. I have one coming in soon as well, though. A 4 and a 20 as well :D
let us know how you like it, and tell us which mods come first!

My 5 is probably underutilized, as it is used primarily for food; but it does a heck of a job on a turkey or roast...and I've done plenty of pineapples and melons with it, as well.
Glad you got one before they disappeared.

Love the 5 & 15!! It can do most anything you need in the right hands. Congrats

Got it in hand. Very, very nice knife. Very much digging the balance. Gotta say, though, this thing looks plenty capable as a camp knife, but I honestly think it's a fighting knife wearing camp clothing. Not ever planning to use it that way, but it's a much nastier piece than I expected. Wicked tip and very fast in hand. I'm liking it a lot so far.

Yes, we keep mine in the kitchen... But I hope to hunt a boar with it. It's pretty cool

When I get home, I will upload a photo of mine.

It lives in my kitchen for now, primarily due to the fact that I thinned the whole thing down to where it is .025 behind the edge and convexed the bevel.
Very nice slicer and a Nice patina starting to take shape.

Enjoy it, I need another.

I wanna see this!-

 Great choice on the 5! I love mine. Don't let it deceive you, just because its thin and slicey ;) It'le go through anything you need it to and ask for more. A Fisk designed blade on an amazing Becker handle, what more could you ask for? oh wait, the smaller version :D do yourself a faver and order a BK15 now.....I think you mentioned something about enablers :D

Also post up some pics when you can, we love em!
