Okay, strange question but it should be easy to answer.

I'm on knifekits.com, I want to buy a Typhoon... but I can't figure out how... I see a "view order" button, but when I click it, it is obviously empty because I haven't ordered anything yet.

Click on link and scroll to the very bottom of page.

knifekits.com./store/s-pages/kk_store_1mainframe.htm?kk_store_productList_main.htm~smain

Won't do the whole link so cut and paste second link and add the www.

Hmmm, that ain't working either...if you go to the site and click till you get to the big picture of the knife you want, then scroll all the way to the bottom there is a place to put in how many you want (looks like Texas Knifes way to order if you are familular with them).

Yeah, I've been there, but either I'm blindingly stupid or that's not a way to order. I see the "view order" and "check out" links, but all I get when I go there is red X's. Anyone know a different site that sells them?

By the way, you're on 800 by 600 desktop resolution, aren't you?

Edit: Ah, you made an edit. Lemme try that.

It's still not working for me. I went to Texasknives.com to see if I could use their similar ordering method (even though I know they don't have the Typhoon), and I ran into the same problem. Red X's.

Works for me, let's give this a try... http://www.knifekits.com./store/classes/display_cart.html

That works! Takes you right to the checkout with one in the cart, need anything else?

I don't mean any offense by this, but uhh... how good are you with computers? That link will only work for you, because your computer has stored the order in your cookie files. Delete your cookies and that link won't work for you, either. All I get is a blank page that says "please wait", because it knows it should be loading an order, but since it's a partially cookie-based operation it doesn't know what item to load, so it does nothing.

Anyway, I figured out what the problem was. My internet options are restricting some cookies, so all I get is a red X instead of the order form. I ran into this problem once a long time ago, and I haven't figured out how to fix it, but I can order the knife from a different computer (I have 3 in the house) that doesn't have that problem. I already checked to make sure it will work.

Thanks for the help.

Okay, dude...if you are on the Typhoon page and looking at the "view order" button, then look just above it and you will see a drop down menu. Click on the arrow that expands the menu, click on the item you would like to order and then change the quantity number and click on the "add" button. After clicking on the "add" button, you will see your item appear in the "Order Quick View" in the upper left hand corner of your screen. After you have finished selecting everything that you want (go back to the drop down to add more items), then you can click on the "view order" link to continue.

edited to add: Sounds like you figured it out in your last post.

Obviously not very, but then again I was not the one seeking help. Do not worry though, I shall not make that mistake of trying to help you again.

I wasn't trying to be rude, and I thanked you for your help, I just tried to explain why that link wouldn't work.

Hey Goat, I had the very same problem and question yesterday when I was on the site. I wrote to them but have not received a response. I then re-visited the site this morning after reading the posts here and I gotta tell ya, that site is all %^$#@ up!:grumpy:

I do not know if this is the right thing to do post.
BUT here goes.
If you are having trouble call this number after 12:00 noon anytime.
1-888-250-5650
We are open until 12:00 midnight.
Alex will take care of you.

What a concept. . .if the site info doesn't work. . .use the "toll free" phone # and talk to a real live person. :p :) :D

Man. . .isn't technology cool ! :D

At the risk of sounding "anti - technology", I think calling in the order would be the best thing. That's what I always do, even though I'm paying for the call from Italy (toll free numbers do not work overseas). That way, you know right away if your item is in stock and there's less chance of confusion. Plus, I like having contact with a person; it makes the transaction more personal and, in my opinion, more satisfying.

Are you using Internet Explorer or a different browser? If it's IE, right-click on the icon (or click on "tools" at the top menue) and go to properties (or "internet options" if you used the tool button). Under the rightmost tab, "advanced", there is a list of options to turn on or off. Look for something like "enable cookies", and make sure it's checked. It should be under either browsing or security. This wasn't the problem I had... still have, actually, but it might be what's causing problems for you.

If you're using a broswer other than IE, there should be a similar cookie option somewhere, but I don't have the experience to know specifically where.

Besides cookies, you might want to make sure you've got a Java VM installed. The shopping cart at KnifeKits.com requires that you be able to run Java applets. A less than optimal implementation, I'd say, since I recently found out that only about half of the people at my university have Java installed on their computers.

Forgot about the Java. You may also want to check your antivirus software--a high setting may be preventing the java from working properly. Of course this is only in theory, my scanner filters java applets.
