I'm looking for both a "survival" knife and a "utility/fighting" knife. The two I am considering are the OKC ASEK and the Spec Plus Fighter (SP6). Does anyone have personal experience (good or bad) with either of these knives? Edge retention, usefulness, "feel" in the hand? (Sorry if I'm in the wrong place)

Don't get the Spec Plus.

Good job giving details. Why not? Because it's an Ontario knife? The ASEK is Ontario as well.

Saerosangk,

Welcome to BF. Both knives will perform well. Similar materials for both. The SP6 has a longer blade...3 inches. I have a couple in the Spec Plus line....they've held up quite well. They were not anywhere near sharp out of the box but they was easy enough to fix.

I don't think you could go wrong with either knife but the SP6 can be had for around $60 cheaper.
