OKCA 2013 {Who's coming and whatcha bringing!}

So the OKCA show (Oregon Knife Collectors Association) is only about a month away. I have been working on some new stuff to fill my table, and just wanted to see who else is coming this year, and if you are a maker what will you be bringing with you.

It really is a great show, but it doesn't seem to get a lot of publicity. I know there are quite a few BF members that usually hold a table, such as David Lisch, Bruce Bump, Eric Ochs, Ryan Weeks, Jonny Mac, John Doyle.........just to name a few. If you haven't checked out the show before I highly recommend it!

Here are few that will be on my table, and couple I am hoping to finish by then.

I'll be there as usual. Not sure what I will have though (as usual). Will be burning the midnight oil getting some stuff done. Have 25 blades almost ready to HT with 3 spoken for so should have a few.
 
I hope to be there as a spectator this year. I didn't opt for a table, first time in many years. This show is about the most interesting knife show ever. It has something for everybody especially if you're into the history of knives as there are collections on display all around the room and I plan to finally have a look at everything and talk with everybody I can. You can't do that if you're tied to a table. Plus I want to search the stag bins on Friday instead of Sunday afternoon when all the good stuff is gone.
 
Hope you can make it Bruce. You are going to have to get there early or I'm going to beat you to that stag:D.

Very nice blades Ben, I love that fighter!

I will not be there this year, just not in the cards with everything going on. I had a great time last year. Good Luck at the show guys!

Well if you must know ST...,

I just returned from California and Oregon doing knife related travel (let me know if you need me to elaborate) with JMK and Mike Turner. My real (Full time job) is working on our family rental properties, my mother had some strokes and is recovering quickly, thank God. But has left us juggling responsibilities. I have a trip planned in July and 3 kids to feed ;)

I don't recall giving you the go ahead to share any details of our private dealings at the JMK compound anyway!!:p

I'm in the same boat and thought I would be cool with not making it this year considering all the stuff I've got on my plate, but as it gets closer I'm starting to wish I was driving up North next month to see everyone! :(

I'm cool with that.....but just so you know about shows and all......

My business partner and I had a table at the OKCA in maybe 2007/2008....his youngest son set a pillow on fire on his waterbed, flooding the whole house....leaving his wife and two smallish children to deal with it.

Leaving the show was not an option, not showing up was not an option.....forward into the breech and all that...the show must go on....we held two tables for about 12 years.

That was us, then....this is what you have to do, now.

I inhereited my table from Dan Westlind and will run it till I cant anymore.....

Good stuff Greg, those damascus look pretty sweet.
 
There are a few knife makers that I know of who are remaining silent for some reason.
So I won't name any names. But there should be a lot of cool knives at the show.
I missed last year, but I will be along the back wall this year with some really ugly wood.

Plus I have a few knives from makers here that I will bring in case anyone wants to look at them.

It's only about an 8 hour drive......if you drive fast.

Mark, I couldn't even be bothered this year to drive up two hours to Pasadena....no, I'm not going to Eugene...but my business partner and one of my best friends is, and I'll ask them to drop by your table.
